Project Examples

Process Safety Management Program for Water and Wastewater Facilities

SGTRIP.jpg (39930 bytes) Matrix personnel have developed numerous process safety management programs for water and wastewater utilities.

These programs were developed in compliance with OSHA's process safety management rule for chlorine, sulfur dioxide and ammonia processes.  These PSM programs were also tailored to meet the EPA's accidental release prevention rule which requires Risk Management Plan submission in June of 1999.  The benefits of Matrix's PSM approach includes:

  • Operations and maintenance participation.

  • Complete PSM Program manual and files.

  • Worker training during PSM development.

  • OSHA and EPA risk management compliance.

Integrated Contingency Plan for an Electric Utility Company

198200.jpg (7504 bytes) Matrix personnel prepared an Integrated Contingency Plan for emergency prevention and response to meet EPA/OSHA regulations.

The Integrated Contingency Plan was developed in accordance with the guidelines published in the Federal Register for integrated plans.  The plan integrated SPCC, RCRA, OSHA and OPA 90 federal requirements as well as applicable state rules.  The benefits of the integrated contingency plan included:

  • More streamlined response approach.

  • Several documents condensed into one.

  • Ease of periodic updates and plan review.

  • Conformance with CAAA Section 112(r).
